Thai Ho Group established a high-standard, national-level testing and control center in Shanghai (“ the testing center”). It was established in 2006 with an area of 500 square meters. It has a microbiology laboratory, instrument analysis room, chemistry laboratory, physics laboratory, and stability and compatibility laboratory.The testing center is a state-certified laboratory accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), and is qualified to have third-party testing authority certification and to issue authoritative test reports.It is one of the few testing centers in the makeup industry in Mainland China that have this certification.
In order to improve the ability of inspection management, the testing center provides customers with satisfactory services. The testing center established and implemented a management system in accordance with CNAS-CL01 “Guidelines for Accreditation of Testing and Calibration Laboratories” (equivalent to ISO/IEC17025), and was assessed as a state-certified laboratory by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) in December 2009.The test reports issued by the laboratory certified by CNAS are applicable to more than 100 countries around the world.
The testing center currently owns inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer (ICP-MS), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), microwave digestion instrument (CEM-MARS6) imported from the US, biochemical incubators, high temperature and high humidity incubators, ultrasonic cleaners, centrifuges, vertical electrothermal pressure steam sterilizers and other instruments worth about 13 million Yuan. Test items include heavy metal content, preservatives, sunscreens, total number of colonies, mold, yeast, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, preservative challenge test, pH, moisture content, breaking force, conductivity, acid value, saponification value, peroxide value, and so on.
Lab inspectors have rich experience in testing. They have participated in various training activities organized by China Certification & Accreditation Institute, Shanghai Songjiang Special Equipment Supervision and Inspection Institute, Beijing Agilent Technologies Co Ltd, Shanghai East China Measurement and Inspection Office, and etc., and passedability test of pathogenic bacteria, heavy metal and preservative of cosmetics organized by China CFAPA Testing Technology Company Limited of Dalian in 2017, review and measurement of total bacterial number andheavy metal lead and arsenic in cosmetics in 2015, review and measurement of heavy metal lead and arsenic measurement in cosmetics organized by Guangdong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention in 2014, ability test of heavy metal mercury in cosmetics organized by Liaoning Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in 2013, high standard laboratory certification by Estee Lauder Asia Pacific Quality Center in 2011, and etc.
